December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It is an important day in the history of post-secondary institutions across Canada. Knowing that education is the best form of prevention against gender-based violence (CDC, 2016), please join us in a discussion of the University of Lethbridge’s process of updating the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy, the newly mandated training for students, and furthering education to prevent gender-based violence at our institutions.

Courtney Smith, BHSc, is the Gender-Based and Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator at the University of Lethbridge. She supports and advocates for survivors of all forms of sexual violence and organizes the institutional response and prevention initiatives to the salient issues of gender-based violence on our campus.

This event is organized by the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office.
