This presentation will share Dr. Hodes’ ongoing research on identity and the body in Canadian anti-discrimination cases; She will contextualize her current research by drawing on her doctoral work, which was funded by SSHRC and the Helena Orton Memorial Scholarship Program; Through critical discourse analysis she will examine the variety of ways that Lockean ideas of being, power and property circumscribe corporeality both inside and outside of courtrooms.
