Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Final Competition

Imagine trying to condense years of complex research and fieldwork into one-slide and a three-minute presentation. That’s the challenge (and opportunity) presented to graduate students in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, an exciting academic competition that assists current graduate students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills.

What is 3MT?

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland which challenges research higher degree students to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance in just three minutes in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.​

When is the uLethbridge Final?

Come out and support uLethbridge graduate students on Friday March 17, 2017 at 5:30 PM in the Markin Hall Atrium as they explain the content and significance of their research to a broad audience. Did we mention they only have three short minutes?

For the final competition, four prizes will be awarded: First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and People’s Choice. The winner of the uLethbridge 3MT® final competition qualifies to represent the University of Lethbridge at the Western Regional 3MT® Competition, to be hosted at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK on April 28, 2017.
