Prof. Xiaoyi Bao is one of the world’s leading experts in fiber optics, and an exceptional teacher at University of Ottawa. Prof. Xiaoyi Bao is also renowned for her support and mentoring of students and young scientists. She has provided leadership on behalf of women in science and has made a determined effort to make the early careers of young scientists as meaningful and productive as possible. She has also served on numerous advisory boards and committees of great influence and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards for her scientific excellence.
