U of L alumna Deri Latimer (BMgt ’84) will be on campus presenting on The Resilient Mindset: Success Strategies for Life, Career and Academics.
“If you have come close to any form of media – social or otherwise – in the last decade, you already know that your mental health is the most important factor in your vitality and sustainability as a human being,” says Latimer. “You also know that life is moving really fast; and stress levels are at an all-time high on campuses, in workplaces, and within homes.”
The good news, Latimer says, is we have far more control than we think and we can learn to continuously develop a resilient mindset. Her high-energy education experience will inform and inspire us to make a difference in our lives, by choosing positive and productive habits that can transform results.
“We’ll explore strategies to build your personal resilience, including how to pause on purpose, bounce through challenges, manage your emotions and choose your story,” says Latimer.
An accomplished keynoter and author, Deri combines her Bachelor of Management with more than 20 years of experience engaging audiences across every sector. She is one of fewer than 12 per cent of speakers globally who hold the designation of CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), and she has presented on the TEDx stage (https://youtu.be/_mie1tkHbqE).
Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to attend.
