Dr. Edward Brynn will be travelling through Lethbridge in January (weather permitting) and has graciously accepted our invitation to join us for an impromptu Brown Bag Series Event. No title.
Dr. Brynn is a retired United States diplomat and a historian with two doctorates -- one in British history (Stanford) and one in Irish history (Trinity College, Dublin). Brynn served as Chargé d'Affaires ad interim to Mauritania from July 1982 to February 1983 and chargé d'Affaires ad interim to the Gambia from May 1984 to June 1984 before he was the United States Ambassador to Burkina Faso (1991–1993) and Ghana (1995–1998). In Washington, D.C., he was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs and later was Deputy Commandant of the National War College. Returning to Washington, from 2009 to 2012, he was the State Department Historian, overseeing publication of several volumes of the nation's official diplomatic history, Foreign Relations of the United States.
