PhD Defence: Mike Bruised Head, Ninna Piiksii

Doctoral candidate and Blackfoot Elder Mike Bruised Head, Ninna Piiksii, is defending his doctoral dissertation in Cultural, Social and Political Thought (CSPT) in a public presentation on June 20, 2022.

The title of Mike's presentation is "The colonial impact of the disappearance of Blackfoot miistakistsi place names in Paahtomahksikimi, Waterton Lakes National Park". 

Mike is the first Blackfoot Elder to graduate from the CSPT program and his Ph.D. Defence Examination Committee includes three Blackfoot knowledge keepers, a first for the University of Lethbridge. Please join in supporting Mike as he prepares to defend his dissertation through an oral presentation.

The presentation is available in a blended format, as it will hosted live on Zoom and in-person at the University of Lethbridge. A recording of Mike's presentation will also be made available following his defence.
