Background

Sarah Ruhl’s stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Orlando is a playful, poetic romp through time, gender and identity.

Spanning centuries, the story follows Orlando — a young nobleman who mysteriously transforms into a woman — as they navigate love, art and self-discovery.

With wit and theatrical flair, Ruhl brings Woolf’s visionary novel to life in a celebration of transformation, imagination and fluidity.
