Modern Languages Film #6: Au Revoir, les enfants (Goodbye, Children) (France, Louis Malle, 1987).

1944: Julien's life in a French Catholic boarding school is disrupted by the arrivai of a new student who challenges his position at the top of his class. Gradually the boys develop mutual respect and shore a secret: Jean is Jewish and is being hidden from the Nazis. An autobiographical tale of friendship and innocence in the face of evil from an acclaimed director. (In French with English subtitles)
