Modern Languages Film #4: Tomboy (France, Céline Sciamma, 2011).

When her family moves to a new neighbourhood during the summer holidays,10-year-old Laure is mistaken for a boy by the local kids, and she decides to be "Mikael." Director Sciamma brings a light touch to this tale of childhood fibs, dreams and the freedom to explore identity. (In French with English subtitles)

A second screening, on Wednesday, March 6 will be hosted by Dr. Kristine Alexander (Institute for Child and Youth Studies).
