The Luke Stebbins Undergraduate Symposium is held twice a year for undergraduate students, registered in an Independent Study (3990, 4990 or 4995) in the Department of Biological Sciences, supervised or co-supervised by a member of the department.
The Symposium gives the students an opportunity to present their research findings in an academic setting, and is a competition with prizes of $200 for first place, and $100 for second place, provided from the Luke Stebbins Scholarship Fund. As well, for the second time Pearson Canada (publishing) is sponsoring a book prize for a worthy candidate.
The competition is judged by a panel of three faculty/instructor members, and is moderated by a graduate student from the department.
The event takes place Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 1:30 - 4:30 pm, after which time the prizes are awarded.
Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be available.
