Health Interprofessional Seminar — "Making Space for Trans Pregnancy Care in New Zealand"

Join Dr. A.J. Lowik in conversation with Dr. George Parker and Mx. Fleur Kelsey, nonbinary midwives, lecturers and trans reproductive health researchers from New Zealand. Together, they are working to collect the stories of trans pregnant people and their families, expand gender-affirming perinatal healthcare, and decolonize how we think about gender in midwifery education and care. During this session, you’ll learn about their research, community and advocacy work, and you’ll hear about the overlapping and differing barriers to gender-affirming perinatal care in New Zealand, as compared to Canada where Dr. Lowik does similar work.
