Dr. Wenyuan Liao received a PhD in Computational Mathematics from Mississippi State University in 2003. After graduation, he worked at Virginia Tech. as an NSF-funded Postdoctoral Fellow on the inverse problem of atmospheric models. In 2005, he moved to Canada and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University. In 2007, he joined the University of Calgary as a tenure-track faculty member and now is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
