What is libertarianism? And why does it seem to be on the rise? This talk will examine its foundational ideas and some of its main theorists. It will argue libertarianism has classical roots, but is also a uniquely American ideology. Finally, the talk will explore its recent emergence in Canada, as witness the Freedom Convoy that occupied Ottawa and several border crossings in February.
