Department of Philosophy Colloquium Series presents:
Of Borders, Bank Accounts, and Bra-Burnings
Guest Speaker: Paul Viminitz, Department of Philosophy
Day/Date: Friday, September 25, 2015
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: C-640 (University Hall)
In this paper Prof. Viminitz will look at a number of social and political phenomena from the perspective of an alien looking in on these phenomena rather than from within them. He suspects that something like this is what's meant by objectivity, as distinct from subjectivity. So what does objectivity give us that subjectivity does not? Well, at the very least, a sense of humor about ourselves.
Everyone welcome.
