Asterix presents Collaborative Storytelling in Live Performance: Engaging in Sensory Experience

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

Explore collaborative storytelling with costume designer Julia Wasilewski; composer, pianist, and digital musical instrumentalist D. Andrew Stewart; and director and improvisation artist Nicola Elson as they discuss engaging the sensory experience in live performance.

Hear about their individual and collaborative approaches to storytelling through recent and upcoming projects. See this work in action by watching live sound artist Colton Vanhooren and costume designers Carla Simon and Jaime Johnson demonstrate collaborative sound and costume storytelling techniques used in the Drama Department’s first production this term, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors! Then using Dracula as inspiration, we invite you to play with us! Improvise with the team to create unique scenes and soundscapes in a collaborative environment. Bring any kind of noisemaker and/or a Dracula-inspired costume piece to participate in this optional hands-on activity. Unusual items encouraged. Non-participating observers also welcome.
