From September to April the art studios at the University of Lethbridge are filled with creative activity, ideas, and a truly diverse range of materials and practices. Another school year has come and gone and Advanced/Senior Art Studio students look forward to sharing their efforts with the community at the annual Art Department Open House on Monday, April 10 from 10am-5 pm on the 8th floor of the Centre for the Arts.

“In the advanced and senior studio courses students work individually with instructors and are invited to work in the media of their choice within themes determined in discussion with their professor,” explain Associate Professor Dagmar Dahle. “Themes vary widely and may include social issues, process driven-art, abstraction, documentary, autobiography and so on.”

Everyone is invited to attend a free exhibition and open studio day for the Department of Art highlighting and celebrating the work of Art Studio students from the 2016/2017 academic year. Students working in sculpture, painting, drawing, installation, digital media and photography will be exhibited.

Studios will be open to explore from 10 am on so interested guests can wander through at their leisure. A reception and awards ceremony takes place at 4 pm in W817.
