2026 ULethbridge 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) and Images of Research Finals Competition

The School of Graduate Studies is excited to announce the Top 10 Finalists for the 2026 Three-Minute Thesis Competition! After a rigorous review process, the following students have advanced to the next stage:

  • Natalie Krizan — M.Sc. Geography
  • Janani Edussooriyage Dona — M.Sc. Neuroscience
  • Jordyn Musial — M.Sc. Neuroscience
  • Ryley Chalack — M.Sc. Biochemistry

The Top 10 Finalists will compete in the Three-Minute Thesis Finals on Thursday, March 12, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Turcotte Hall TH201 with overflow in TH204. Students, staff and faculty are invited to attend in person or virtually, and audience members will be able to cast their vote for the People's Choice Award category. The Images of Research competition winners will be announced at the Three-Minute Thesis Finals Competition.  

The Images of Research (IoR) competition is a unique opportunity for graduate students at the University of Lethbridge to display their research, scholarly and artistic work. The aim of the competition is to provide graduate students with an artistic alternative to highlight their work, as a way to celebrate the diverse research at the University of Lethbridge.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland that challenges research higher degree students to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance in just three minutes in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
