If You Require an Ambulance
Occassionally an injury or illness may require transporation to the hospital by ambulance. When calling for an ambulance please keep the following points in mind:
- Ambulance personnel will come to where you are
- If it is your home, make sure the door is unlocked for them
- You will be transported to the closest medical hospital to receive medical care. In Lethbridge the nearst facility is the Chinook Regional Hospital.
- Depending on the severity of your emergency there may be a wait to be seen by a physician
- Ensure that when you are discharged (sent home) that you have and understand your medical instuctions
- Any follow-up care that may need to be arrnaged
- Any prescriptions/medications that may be required
- You will be responsible for finding your own way home from the hospital
- You will be responsible for the fees associated with your ambulance
- Your extended benefit plan may assist you in paying for the ambulance bill
