Research expertise

Wendi (she/her) has worked in public health since graduating with her  Bachelor's of Nursing degree in 1997 (University of Calgary). Wendi completed her Masters of Nursing degree in 2004 and her PhD in 2014 (both at the University of Calgary). She began her career as a school nurse and a well child nurse. From 2002-2021, Wendi worked as a Sexual and Reproductive Health Specialist in Alberta where she provided leadership in the areas of child and youth sexual health promotion, service provider education and training, program evaluation, and research. She is the visionary of and contributor to www.tascc.ca, a website which provides evidence informed sexuality content and learning modules to youth with intellectual disabilities and the people supporting them. Wendi's research interests include: sexual and reproductive health, health education, health promotion, school health, and public health.
