8.00 a.m. Left Battine House Youth Hostel, East Marden by special coach for Paignton and Torquay, South Devon,

8.30 p.m. Arrived at Paignton and Torquay.

From the collection of postcards I brought home, I must have been impressed with the countryside.

The group were met by the Chairman, Lt.-Col. Irwin Northcote, the Honorary Secretary, Mrs. E. C. Simpkins. The next few days we would be entertained in the homes of members and friends of The English-Speaking Union.
