Previous Day

Wednesday, June 17, 1953 & Thursday, June 18, 1953
These two days we were left with our hosts. I believe Dave Kennedy and myself were billeted with a Mr. & Mrs. Gilmore in Stoke Gabriel.
Our hosts gave us our first "English pub" experience where Devon's apple cider proved a hit — except for the headache the next morning.
Mr. Gilmore took us on his boat on the River Dart which I recorded with my little Brownie camera.
Over the two days I recorded more scenes and was mesmerized by stories of his World War I Royal Air Force experiences.

Before leaving I bought a collection postcards to remind me of the fine time we had in Devon.
