8.30 a.m. Left Camp by coach for STRATFORD-UPON-AVON where, under arrangements made by Mrs. J. L. T. Evans, C.B.E., of The English-Speaking Union, members lunched in the Restaurant of the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre.

Built 1932 by Elisabeth Scott as "Shakespeare Memorial Theatre", incorporating the relics of the previous "Shakespeare Memorial Theatre" (built 1879, destroyed by a fire in 1926) 1960 renamed "Royal Shakespeare Theatre". 1412 seats.

2.30 p.m. Saw THE TAMING OF THE SHREW under special arrangements made by Mr. G. Hume, General Manager.

Following the matinee, Canadian members and all others attending under the aegis of the Commonwealth Youth Movement were entertained to Tea by the Governors of the Theatre. (Chairman Lt.-Col. Fordham Flower, O.B.E.)

Following tea, by invitation of the Mayor a short programme was given jointly by the Canadian choirs and the South African Folk Dancers in the Bancroft Gardens on the banks of the River Avon.
