Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)/Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Dual Degree

Bond University – Bachelor of Laws
Students interested in a career in law may complete a program offered jointly by the University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Arts and Science, and Bond University, Faculty of Law, in Queensland, Australia. Students in this program complete the Canadian Law program at Bond University and are eligible to apply to practice law in Canada.
Within this dual degree program, students first complete 20 courses (60.0 credit hours) at the University of Lethbridge towards the B.A. Upon completion of a minimum of 20 courses (60.0 credit hours) with Good Standing at the University of Lethbridge, students are eligible to apply to Bond University for the LL.B. portion of the dual degree for the equivalent of 24 courses (72.0 credit hours or 240 credit points at Bond University) and subsequently return to complete an additional 10 courses (30.0 credit hours) at the University of Lethbridge to complete the program. Students will be awarded both degrees – B.A. from the University of Lethbridge and LL.B. from Bond University – upon completion of all the requirements at both universities.
Applicants to the dual degree B.A. - LL.B. are advised to refer to Admission and www.ulethbridge.ca/ross/admissions/undergrad for general admission requirements, additional admission requirements, policies, and application deadlines.
Enrolment is limited and fulfilment of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. The Faculty of Arts and Science reserves the right to select applicants for admission and readmission based on admission average.
Applications to the dual degree are limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
Applicants may not be admitted to the dual degree program if they have previously completed an undergraduate degree.
Bond University Admission
Upon completion of a minimum of 20 courses (60.0 credit hours) with a cumulative GPA of 2.70 (calculated on all courses completed at the University of Lethbridge), students can apply to Bond for the LL.B. portion of the dual degree.

1.General Requirements
a.A minimum of 30 courses (90.0 credit hours) with a GPA of at least 2.00.
b.A minimum of 10 courses (30.0 credit hours) from disciplines offered by the Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Fine Arts, or School of Liberal Education at the 3000/4000 level, excluding Activity courses (labelled PHAC and MUSE).
c.A maximum of 10 courses (30.0 credit hours) may be completed at the 1000 level (or lower) for credit towards the B.A. degree, excluding Activity courses (labelled PHAC and MUSE) and courses numbered in the range of 0520 to 0530.
d.A maximum of three Independent Study courses (9.0 credit hours) may be completed for credit towards the degree.
e.A maximum of three Disciplinary Credit Applied Studies courses (9.0 credit hours) may be completed for credit towards the degree. Students may, in addition, complete Applied Studies 2000, 2001, 2010, and 2011.
f.A maximum of 17 courses (51.0 credit hours) may be completed from any one discipline for credit towards the degree. Disciplines are identified by a specific course label (e.g. KNES, ASTR, and HIST are separate disciplines).
g.A maximum of 6.0 credit hours in Activity courses (i.e. courses labelled PHAC and MUSE) may be completed for credit towards the degree, except for Kinesiology majors (not more than 15.0 credit hours).
h.A maximum of four courses (12.0 credit hours) from disciplines offered outside the Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Fine Arts, or School of Liberal Education may be completed for credit towards the degree. Courses cross-listed between the Faculty of Arts and Science and another Faculty or School do not count towards this limit.
i.Residence requirement: a minimum of 20 courses (60.0 credit hours) must be completed at the University of Lethbridge.
j.Completion of the Liberal Education List Requirement (see School of Liberal Education, Liberal Education List Requirement).

For the Bachelor of Arts, a major program must be chosen and completed from among the following majors: Anthropology, Economics, English, French, French/Spanish, General Major in the Humanities, General Major in the Social Sciences, Geography, History, Indigenous Studies, Kinesiology, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Urban and Regional Studies, or Women and Gender Studies.
Residence requirement: at least half of the courses required in the major must be completed at the University of Lethbridge.
