Buckhorn Springs Lookout

The magnificent view you see from Buckhorn Springs Lookout is the parallel canyons of Horse Creek, Lightning Creek, and Cow Creek coming into the lmnaha Canyon. Off in the far distance is Hells Canyon. Intrepid Travelers who have made the journey to Dug Bar may recognize this view although they have seen it from a different angle on the Dug Bar Road. The Nez Perce Trail travels from these heights down to the canyon floor. From Cow Creek, the northernmost canyon, the Trail goes up out of the lmnaha Canyon and crosses the divide leading over into Hells Canyon.
