| June 24, 2008 — Komandor Bay, Bering Island, Russia
We were up at 5.30 a.m. to make a morning pilgrimage to Captain Vitus Bering’s grave in Commander Bay to commemorate his historic voyages. Look at all the funny people struggling to stay upright as they explore the hummocks and tundra. The rest of the day was spent sailing for the Kamchatka Coast. |
