While waiting to be picked up by Mr. Kikuchi we were reminded again of the creative way the Japanese deal with parking cars. On his arrival Mr. Kukuchi took us on a tour of Hokkai High School where Joan had taught some 14 years before. Fortunately, it was the day of the annual staff barbecue and we were able to meet many old friends. From the barbecue Mrs. Sakamoto and her husband took us to the ski jump at the site of the 1972 Olympics. We then proceeded past the Chocolate Factory to their new condo where we enjoyed a great meal of sushi and other Japanese food. |
