Friday, June 26 to Tuesday, June 30, 1953

9.00 a.m. Left Bristol by special coaches for Worcester.

12.15 p.m. Arrived WORCESTER where the group was entertained to lunch at the Christopher Whitehead Secondary School for Boys, by courtesy of the Headmaster, Mr. W. B. Bourne.

2.30 p.m. Short concert given by the Bishop Strachan School Choir in the Public Hall, followed by a Reception given by the Mayor ofWorcester, Alderman Dr. F. L. Spalding, at the GUILDHALL.

We then proceeded to Worcester Training College and Manor Farm, where we were the guests of Alderman and Mrs. S. T. Bennett.

No formal plans were made for the stay in Worcester.

We had four free days at Worcester. I don't remember resenting the fact that many of the group had made arrangements to visit relatives or go off to Paris so I must have found it relaxing. Only three things come to mind - the Shakespeare play put on by the students of Worcester Training College (now University College Worcester), a gymnastic demonstration and visiting a farm where I had an interesting chat with a farm hand as he went about his duties.
