10.15 a.m. By invitation of the Management at the instance of Mr.A. C. Parker, visited Messrs. W. D. and H. 0. Wills' Factories at Ashton Gate (Raleigh Road).

The W.D. & H. O. Wills company, now part of Imperial Tobacco, was founded in 1786 and has been a major benefactor to the University of Bristol and the Bristol community. But I thank God I gave up smoking five years after my visit.

4.30 p.m. The Right Hon. the Lord Mayor of Bristol (Councillor K. A. Brown) received the visiting Canadians at the Mansion House and entertained them to Tea.
8.00 p.m. By kind arrangement with the Warden, Miss G. M.Morgan, Major Ney and all groups were entertained at a Coffee Party given at Manor Hall for members of the Canadian Club of Bristol and for others participating in the arrangements for the visit to Bristol. The guests included:
