Today was the CORONATION OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH.Seats from which to view the CORONATION PROCESSION were made available by the Canadian Government Coronation Committee through the office of the Secretary of State. To get there we left Camp at 5.20 a.m.by special coaches, taking packed meals for the day. By 6.00 a.m. all members had to be in their seats on the North and South Sides of the Mall, near BUCKINGHAM PALACE.

10.15 a.m. The Queen's Procession left Buckingham Palace. 4.30 p.m. The Queen returned to the Palace. 5.30 p.m. Fly-Past of the Royal Air Force. 6.00 p.m. Left Eaton Square for the return journey to Camp. The evening was spent in Camp where a television set was installed. Members heard the Queen's and the Prime Minister's broadcast. In view of the great crowd which was thronging the streets of London, no exit permits from Camp were issued. |
