Library Reopening: Monday, August 9

This is the Library news you have been waiting for! The Library will reopen on Monday, August 9 at 10 a.m.

Things you should be aware of:

HOURS OF OPERATION

The Library and its Online Assistance hours of operation are as follows:

Fall hours of operation will begin Tuesday, September 7. Click here for detailed hours.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Though most restrictions have been lifted the following measures are in place:

STUDY SPACE & RENOVATIONS

All available study space, including bookable group workrooms, will be accessible.

There are ongoing collection maintenance (e.g., cleaning and shifting, etc.) projects and renovations being performed in the Library and there will be additional noise associated with the work. Signage will be placed in affected areas and additional notices will be provided.

BORROWING & COLLECTION ACCESS

Lethbridge & Area

The Anderson Hall (AH176) pick up and return location will be closed after 4 p.m. on Friday, August 6.

Starting August 9, all collections will be accessible, and patrons (including alumni and community) are able to browse and borrow from those collections. Short term laptop, media equipment, and physical Reserve Collection lending will be available.

Lending of materials will be performed from the Library’s Services Desk and on-campus returns will only be accepted there.

Distance Patrons

The Library continues to provide FREE distance delivery to members of the University Community that reside farther than a 90km radius from Lethbridge and reside in Canada. Click here for distance delivery service details.

FINES

During the closure, the transfer of fines to the Cash Office were suspended on student accounts. Starting September 7, any fines on student accounts will move to the Cash Office for payment.

You can view any fines accrued on your account during the closure by accessing your Library record before September 7. After September 7, students can view any fines in the Bridge.

To appeal any fine, contact Jesse Malinsky (malijn@uleth.ca).

RESEARCH HELP/ONLINE ASSISTANCE

Research Help services will be provided online for the duration of the summer semester—please use our Ask Us suite of services. In addition to our traditional Ask Us services, we support bookable Teams interactions.

Click here for a directory of online resources provided by the Library that includes, but is not limited to: live chat and research support, digital collections, interlibrary loan services, technology support, Library social media, and more.

Research Help will include in person and online support in the fall semester.

COURSES & WORKSHOPS

Library Science 0520 (Indigenous Student Success Cohort only) and Library Science 2000 credit courses will be available in the Fall 2021 semester.

BOOKSTORE

The University Library is not formally associated with the university’s Bookstore. If you have questions related to Bookstore purchases, services, etc., click here.
