This course is an introduction to the use and effects of drugs of abuse. It covers the history of drug use, rates of drug consumption in North America, basic drug processes and bodily responses, an introduction to epigenetics, addiction across the life span, drug policies, and a brief survey of various drugs of abuse; legal, illicit, and prescription medication. It briefly covers the treatment of addiction and drugs as therapeutics.

It explores theories and practices related to work in this area; how clients and counsellors can effectively explore identity, intersectionality, and mental health; topics specific to the sub-populations this course is focused toward; how to be an affirming professional in this field. Personal reflection and group discussion are incorporated into the online learning environment.

This course delves into the study of death, dying, and psycho-spiritual transformation. It will require students to deeply explore the question "Who Am I" and seek answers from a psycho-spiritual perspective, considering the transpersonal theme "Die before you Die". Additionally, the course aims to understand our "death phobic culture" and explore personal efforts to bring about change through psychospiritual transformation. The course also offers a framework for understanding Nonlocal consciousness and introduces transpersonal healing practices to reshape our understanding of death, dying, and bereavement as a whole.
