Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - UAV (Drones)

The use of Drones (also known as Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)) on the U of L campus or for any University business must comply U of L requirements in addition to Transport Canada Regulations and all other applicable legislation.

Drones are now required to be registered and labelled under Transport Canada Regulations. Review Transport Canada's Drone Safety page for further information.

Detailed information on the U of L's requirements for drones is available here.

Drone pilots are also advised to have a Field Hazard Assessment/Safety Plan in place. Contact Safety Services for assistance and further information.
