TECTERRA Industry Investment Program

The Industry Investment Program (IND) enables and supports small to medium size Alberta companies in the development and commercialization of innovative geospatial solutions for integrated resource management. Funding will focus on solutions for energy, forestry, agriculture, environment, land management and land development.

With the recent economic downturn, many Alberta companies have been hit hard and TECTERRA is responding by increasing the maximum funding support available for technology driven SMEs under this program. TECTERRA's contribution under this CFP will vary by project and generally ranges from $150,000 to $500,000 per project. We will now be reviewing additional funding requests on a case-by-case basis.

If you’re an Alberta company working on a project that supports geospatial technology innovation development, talk to us. Even if you don’t think you have a geospatial component to your business, we want to hear from you.

TECTERRA has recently revised the IND application process and expressions of interest are now being accepted. Apply now and if approved, you'll receive funding before the end of the year.

Key priorities for this program include:

  • SMEs with a focus on Environmental Management, Monitoring and Protection
  • SMEs collaborating with Alberta universities to move applied research to commercialization
  • SMEs utilizing the Government of Alberta open data portal for unique and value-adding business opportunities
  • SMEs making use of the GeoDiscover Alberta portal and data catalogue

Areas of Focus include:
