Call for Applications: Tier II BoGRC

On behalf of the Board of Governors of the University of Lethbridge, the Office of the Vice-President (Research) is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Board of Governors Research Chair (BoGRC) program. 

In this call, there are up to three BoGRC positions available at the Tier II level. Appointments will be made along Tri-Agency disciplines as outlined below.

Tenured or tenure-track faculty members at the assistant or associate professor level with demonstrated excellence in scholarly or creative activity and outstanding leadership potential are invited to apply. Applicants should be within 10 years from the conferral of their PhD or equivalent qualification at the time of application. Applicants who are more than 10 years from having earned their highest degree and have experienced career interruptions (e.g., maternity, parental, family or medical leaves) may have their eligibility for a Tier II BoGRC assessed.

In an effort to achieve diversity and equity within the Tier II appointments, we are accepting applications from Assistant or Associate Professors whose program of research:

Appointments will be made for a four-year term effective July 1, 2021. Appointments are nonrenewable.

Expectations

Board of Governors Research Chairs will play a leadership role in promoting the overall development of research and creative activity at the University of Lethbridge, beyond their personal research programs. Tier II BoGRCs should contribute and participate in similar activities to build their leadership skills. All BoGRCs should be dedicated to the training of the next generation of highly qualified professionals.

Details on eligibility, entitlements, application requirements and the adjudication process are available on the vice-president (research) website at http://www.uleth.ca/vp-research/board-governors-research-chair. Applications, including all supporting material, should be submitted electronically, with the subject “BoGRC Application” to Penny Pickles using ORIS@uleth.ca by November 18, 2019. Letters of support may be submitted directly to ORIS via the same email address.

Please note: if you will be submitting a Tier II justification request, please submit it early in the application process to ensure you receive the committee’s decision with enough time to prepare your application.

Applications that are incomplete after November 18 will be withdrawn from the competition.
