Statement recognizing the National Day of Observance

Today, it’s important we recognize this National Day of Observance, the precious lives that have been lost and the sacrifices we have all made throughout this trying year. Much has changed for us as a society and the impact of COVID-19 will be felt for generations to come. Only through resilience, kindness, generosity and gratitude have we been able to come together and support one another through this unprecedented time. We commend those who continue to work and sacrifice for the health and safety of society. Let us unite in remembrance of those we lost and draw upon our collective strength as a community, locally, nationally and beyond to continue the fight to end this pandemic together. The University has lowered its flags in recognition of this day.
