Dear Conservatory of Music Students,
In response to the Government of Alberta's announcement of further restrictions, we've had to implement some changes to our operations and programs in compliance with the Restrictions Exemption Program.
What will change?
As of Tuesday, September 21st, proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test (taken in the past 72 hours) will be required for any students, parents or caregivers above the age of 12 who want to access Casa for any Conservatory of Music programs. Those under age 12 would not need to provide proof of immunization or a negative test.
To summarize, when you arrive at Casa on or after Sept 21st, you will enter in the EAST door, where a security guard will ask you for:
- Proof of vaccination
- Partial vaccination (one dose) accepted September 20 to October 25 if received 2 weeks before time of service
- Full vaccination (two doses) required after October 25
- Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)
- Documentation of a medical exemption OR
- For students under 12, an attestation that you are under age 12.
Note: Parents or caregivers who enter with their child will follow these same steps, above.
Proof of vaccination can be shown using records from the Alberta MyHealth app (printable cards are available as of Sept 19th), or for individuals unable to access a digital copy of their vaccination, paper copies of vaccination records will also be accepted. Please note that while this plan will eliminate the need for 3m physical distancing, masking will still be mandatory for all Conservatory programs and classes.
For those who will be unable to access their lessons in-person because of these new restrictions, please consider moving your lessons online. In the case where a child under 12 can enter for a lesson but their caregiver can not, our instructors may be able to offer a live streaming option for parents to view from the parking lot. Please inquire with your instructor about that option.
If these restrictions impact your ability to participate in programs and online is not a feasible option for you, please contact Breeanne Fuller at Breeanne.Fuller@uleth.ca to discuss your options.
