Our artist, Corne Martens (taking the part of Henri Julien on the original trek) sketched our procession through the Cypress Hills as we passed a marker honouring Constable Graburn.
Graburn was the first Mountie to lose his life through violence. In 1879 he was murdered while on duty at Fort Walsh.
