Oct. 13. Morning at work writing. packing &c. Afternoon drove down to H.B.Post with Rowe to enquire about boats &c. Business appears to be active at the Custom house.
Many flat boats on their way to Garry with timber & all sorts of goods. Beautiful Indian Summer day. Bright aurora in the evening.

Oct. 14. All day Arranging & Exchanging plants with Burgess & Millman. Packing fossils &c. Duckworth engaged packing birds & re-cataloguing.
Took a stroll in the evening.
Fine Indian Summer day.

Oct 15. Engaged packing specimens &c. & returning apparatus &c into store.
Fine warm day.

Fine warm day. Atmosphere now chronically smokey & the sun always setting as a round red ball. Indian summer, but the hazyness due to distant prairie fires.

Sent off horses to Garry to sell.
