Sept. 30. Drove on with Ashe to River Lake to shoot, but found very few ducks. Lunched at slew a few miles further E. Reached Souris R. early. Crossed at S. Ford & camped on river flat. The foliage here seems nearly all fallen & altogether more autumnal appearance than at Wood End
