Northwest Passage - Canadian Arctic



					It would be a very lonely existence with a ship and maybe visitors once a year. In 1926-27 two Mounties died. One a suicide, the other when a gun accidentally discharged. It might take a year before word of such tragedy reached the south. Note the RCMP official headstones at the rear of the enclosure. Even today, RCMP are responsible for upkeep at the grave site and try to visit once a year.
