We left Santiago, the hottest city on the island, offering the most intense blue sea, the most flavourful arrays of fruit, and proud to be the birthplace of the daiquiri, one of the ten most famous cocktails in the world.

We borded a Russian aircraft with no airline markings. I guess it was a no-name brand.
With two baggage searches before departing and one on the way, some of us were found to have dangerous weapons — tweezers.
But we all arrived safely in Havana with still time to spend some money at the market.
Our last evening together was spent eating a gourmet meal and enjoying an unexpcted floorshow.
The next day we played the waiting game. Our plane to Toronto was not to leave until evening while Victor took part of our group on an earlier to flight to Mexico City where he would work a Mexico tour while the others continued on to Vancouver.

We had a leisurely day photographing Havana life. Although our goal of checking out the Revolution Museum was thwarted — a sign on the door told us the museum would be closing early to accomodate an important person. The past two weeks has been another great adventure..
