In April 2019, the Board of Governors announced the reappointment of President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mike Mahon, for a final three-year term commencing July 1, 2020. Dr. Mahon’s term is set to expire on June 30, 2023. 

 

The University is expected to announce its 7th president and vice-chancellor late in 2022 or early in 2023 with the expected term to begin July 1, 2023. Please refer to the "Timeline" tab for any updated information.

The Board of Governors has developed a position description for the President, and the search firm, in consultation with the constituency groups will develop the position profile.

The Board of Governors has final approval of the next President, and the Search Committee is responsible for making the recommendation to the Board of Governors. This process is all outlined within the Designation and Appointment of Senior Administrators Policy.

As part of the process, all constituent groups will have the opportunity to provide valuable input into the vision for the University and the personal qualities the University seeks in its next president and vice-chancellor to enable the achievement of this vision. This input will be invaluable to the search committee, and everyone is strongly encouraged to engage in the process as it unfolds.
