U of L Directory profile

Dr. Blaine Hendsbee has performed throughout North America and has a repertoire of more than 60 operatic roles, which span the entire operatic and oratorio repertoire. He is as much sought after as an interpreter of 20th century operas as he is known for his sharply-etched portrayals of the great character tenor roles in the standard operatic literature. He is noted for his dramatically-infused art song recitals featuring the music of Schumann, Britten, Butterworth and Poulenc as well as Victorian and Edwardian composers. His students have gone on to sing professionally throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Hendsbee is a frequent conference presenter, masterclass clinician and competition adjudication.
