All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in pharmacology of cannabinoids receptors and/or with strong expertise in the field of molecular pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors and/or pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of various drugs. The research project, which is supported by MITACS Canada and pursued in collaboration with an industrial Partner (Sundial Growers, Nasdaq - SNDL), entails in analyzing the effect of cannabinoids and terpenoids on cancer and inflammation processes. The candidate will be asked to work in collaboration with several other researchers involved in this project, and to do an internship with our industrial Partner during their tenure.
- Design and perform studies, and analyze data,
- Collaborate with other members of the lab involved in the project, as well as with our industrial partner,
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students
- Write regular reports, manuscripts and grant applications.
Education / Experience
- PhD in biological sciences or MD
- At least 5 years of experience in molecular and cell biology and biochemistry,
- Experience with molecular pharmacology,
- Ability to work independently,
- Strong interpersonal skills and motivation,
- Good communication skills (spoken and written),
- Working knowledge in data processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

Arctic land-terminating glacier changes and related surface mass balance
Remote sensing and DEM analysis of short and medium term changes in glacier area and volume using a variety of remote sensing and DEM data, as well as supplemental mass balance data. Candidates require a solid background in glaciology, and especially knowledge of surface mass balance and glacier remote sensing, including semi-automated and manual digitization of land-terminating margins from high resolution images. Also required are one or more of the following: an active understanding of glacier system response to climate change, experience in analysis of GIS and RS-based glacier inventories, historical glacier fluctuations, satellite image and surface DEM processing/differencing, and surface mass balance data. This project is one of the sub-themes of the NSERC-funded research program "Effects of Arctic sea fog on glacier melt", which has a main focus on glacierized coastal regions in Greenland and Arctic Canada.
Program of Study:
Research Assistantship through NSERC-supported Supervisor. Potential additional funding through several internal and external awards, including Teaching Assistantship.

LABORATORY OF MEDICINAL BIOPHYSICS
Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
A postdoctoral researcher position is available at the Medicinal Biophysics Laboratory, led by Dr. Trushar Patel, to study the RNAprotein and protein-protein interactions that play crucial roles in cell signaling. The candidate will perform cell biology, biophysical and mass spectrometry assays. Motivated researchers with a recent Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, cellular biology or a similar discipline are encouraged to apply. It is expected that the candidate will have proven their research accomplishments by peer-reviewed publications. Mass Spectrometry experience is an asset. Interested candidates should send a CV including the names of at least three referees, a motivation letter and links to publications by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
