Check your Summer 2024/Fall 2024 registration dates on the Bridge on March 1. Register as soon as your registration opens during initial registration which begins March 18 to be eligible for Fall 2024 wait-listing.  Note there is no wait-listing for Summer courses.

Mandatory for new admits for Fall 2024: Ensure you have completed the "Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Training" on Moodle prior to registration.

What is wait-listing?

Dhillon School of Business (DSB) will accept requests from the following students who were unable to access DSB courses required for sequencing or graduation in the upcoming Fall (registration begins mid-March) and Winter (registration begins early November) terms:

  • continuing students who registered during initial registration for the upcoming term
  • new students who were admitted after initial registration was over for the upcoming term but registered during their first registration window

DSB courses include:

See wait-listing information for courses offered through other U of L Faculties here.

Although registration for Summer and Fall take place at the same time mid-March, THERE IS NO WAIT-LISTING FOR SUMMER COURSES. Summer courses are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When can I wait-list?

Wait-listing takes place for continuing students immediately following initial registration for Fall (mid-March) and Winter (early November) terms.  Be sure to register when your window opens during the initial registration period to be eligible for wait-listing.

How do I wait-list?

1. Ensure ALL of the following are met:

  • You have completed the mandatory Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Training in Moodle (see Student FAQ).
  • You attempted to register for the DSB course you want to wait-list for when your registration opened during initial registration -OR- you are a new student who was admitted for the upcoming term after initial registration ended.
  • There are no holds on your student record or account.
  • The course is offered by DSB in the upcoming term at your campus.
  • The course is required for your currently declared major(s) and must be taken in the upcoming term for sequencing or graduation.
  • You are not already registered in another section of the course. In other words, section preference is not a valid reason to wait-list.
  • The course does not conflict with your other registered courses and does not exceed the course limit (16.5 credit hours) -OR- you will indicate a course to be dropped in its place.
  • The course prerequisites and corequisites are met or will be met with currently registered courses before the beginning of the upcoming term.

2. Look up the course (including subject and number) and section(s) for which you would like to wait-list in the timetable on the Bridge.

3. Provide the following information when contacting a DSB advisor at your campus:

  • your student ID
  • the course (including subject and number) and section(s) for which you would like to wait-list. (ie. ACCT 3151 Section A)
  • the reason you were not able to register (date you attempted) in the course during initial registration (ie. The course was full when I registered on March 18)

What if I am not eligible for wait-listing?

If you are not eligible for wait-listing, you may have other options and can consult your Program Planning Guide and/or a DSB advisor at your campus. Keep in mind there is lots of registration movement and a seat may open up in the course you want in one of the following ways:

  • Students continually add and drop classes once registration opens for the term.  Activity is especially high from the first day of classes until the add deadline. If you are persistent in checking, you may be successful in adding the course.
  • DSB courses that are initially restricted by either campus or program, will have restrictions dropped as shown in the tables below, which may result in possible available seats. To see campus or program restrictions, click on the CRN for the course in the timetable on the Bridge and then on the course title.
