School of Liberal Education — Edward Snowden

Tuesday, May 9, 4:30 to 9 p.m., University Theatre

Snowden, the whistleblower who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency, will provide a virtual lecture on the state of cybersecurity and surveillance. A question-and-answer session moderated by Dr. Harold Jansen follows the lecture.

Lunch & Learn — Rattlesnakes

Wednesday, May 10, noon to 1 p.m.

The U of L, in partnership with the Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society, is hosting local naturalist and snake expert Ken Moore (BASC ’88) for a talk on how to have a peaceful co-existence with rattlesnakes.

Brenda Milner Lecture Series — The Addicted Brain

Thursday, May 11, 7 p.m., Lethbridge Lodge (Aspen Room)

Dr. Anthony Phillips, a renowned authority in addiction psychiatry and professor at the University of British Columbia, will be giving a free public lecture about the neurological basis of mental illness and addiction as part of the Brenda Milner Lecture Series.

En Plein Air ’17 — Buds ‘n’ Blossoms

Sunday, May 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage
